Posture

Good posture is important in any type of work, and will mean that an individual will walk, sit and stand without slouching.

As well as giving an impression of confidence and vitality, good posture will also help the receptionist to feel more active and less tired after a busy day, and that alone is surely worth the effort involved in adopting good habits of posture.Good/Bad Posture

Other benefits from maintaining good posture are a better figure shape, increased muscle exercise and decreased risks of back injury and muscular pains from standing for long periods.

Put your body in alignment and everything will begin to fall into its proper place: flatter stomach, straighter back, buttocks tucked under, longer neck.

Good Posture/Bad Posture
Here's how:
  • Stand with feet a few inches apart, toes pointing straight ahead and arms hanging loosely at your sides.
  • Distribute weight evenly on both legs by pressing on the ball of each foot.  Tighten the muscles in the front of your thighs.
  • Slowly draw the buttocks tightly together.
  • Now, slowly stretch your spine upward while drawing your shoulder blades together.  Take care not to lift your shoulders or tilt your chin.
Good posture is the backbone of body language when trying to create a professional and business-like appearance.
