The receptionist will
receive many enquiries and will be expected to find answers on a wide range
of subjects. Many queries will be routine and the answers will be
known and repeated again and again throughout each week.
There will of course be other questions for which the receptionist will need to refer to someone else inside the organisation, or to look up the information in a reference book. In a large and busy hotel, even routine enquires will be too numerous and too wide-ranging for any one person to retain all the answers, especially where details, such as travel times and cinema and theatre programmes, change frequently. Therefore every reception area should have easy access to different sources of information. |
